Guo Jie's Award-Winning Design Echoes the Serenity of Guizhou's Landscape

Guizhou, a land of abundance and outstanding people, is known for its mountains, deep valleys, and natural stalactite grottos. These elements served as the inspiration for Guiyang You Mountain. The project, undertaken by ENJOYDESIGN, is situated near the Changpoling National Forest Park, offering a natural barrier and beautiful scenery. The aim was to create beautiful and special mountain dwelling foreign-style houses that offer an escape from the city's noise without completely isolating from it.

The design's unique properties lie in its focus on the relationship among space, experience, and nature. Guo Jie aimed to incorporate the unique local culture and humanistic care of the city, echoing the natural sense of simplicity and serenity in the space. By integrating contemporary design techniques, the project presents symbolic creativity, starting symbolic expression in every structure or shape. This approach creates interests from the multiple forms of materials and lines, presenting a variety of image symbols in the space composition, and sketching the local magnificent and simple natural and cultural sight.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was to achieve the ideal state of 'staying away from the noise of cities but not cities' for the project and arouse the vitality and impression of the city. However, through careful planning and design, this challenge was successfully overcome, resulting in a space that is both tranquil and connected to the urban environment.

The project spans an area of 1122 square meters, offering ample space for exploration and experience. The design's success is evident in its recognition by the prestigious A' Design Award, where it was awarded Silver in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
